Wordpress 2.8.5 now is release. While Wordpress 2.9 Beta Version being developed, new version for enhanced secure is release. In Wordpress Development Blog, announce that this version is has change to make WordPress as secure as possible.
The major change are :
- A fix for the Trackback Denial-of-Service attack that is currently being seen.
- Removal of areas within the code where php code in variables was evaluated.
- Switched the file upload functionality to be whitelisted for all users including Admins.
- Retiring of the two importers of Tag data from old plugins.
For that reason, they recommend that all sites are upgraded to this new version of WordPress to ensure that we have the best available protection.
In the end of new, they told us to ensure that our site have cleared out all traces of the exploit then they would recommend that we take a look at the WordPress Exploit Scanner.

bedanya kalau pake ftp/filezilla transfer harus download dulu filenya, sama kadang suka ada yg gagal pas koneksi dudul beda dgn auto update. Disisi lain, autoupdate kalau pas pertengahan koneksi putus, resikonya wp-crash.
pasti ada plus minusnya, tergantung kita aja nyaman dimana, klo sy pribadi cendrung pilih ftp transfer, cos’ bisa lihat file-2 mana aja yg ditransfer ….
